I offer individualized private instruction that is tailored specifically to your needs, goals, and current abilities. Location and Availability

I offer private classes in Vienna, Graz, and throughout the rest of Styria. I'm flexible with location and willing to travel within these regions to provide you with convenient training options. For students outside my regular teaching area, I'm happy to discuss arrangements, though we would need to plan for sufficient lesson time to make longer travel practical.

What You Can Learn

In private classes, we can work on any aspect of the Chinese internal arts that interests you. This includes the complete range of practices I teach, from foundational qigong and standing meditation to advanced martial forms and weapon techniques. We can focus on health cultivation practices like Zhan Zhuang, Wu Xing Qigong (Five Animals), and Ba Duan Jin (Eight Brocades), which strengthen the body and promote wellbeing. For those interested in martial arts development, we can explore forms ranging from basic Ji Ben Quan to advanced practices like Xuan Gong Quan, Fu Hu Quan (Subduing the Tiger), Long Hua Quan (Dragon Fist), Xing Yi Quan, Ba Ji Quan, and Ba Gua Zhang.

Taichi instruction is available at all levels, from the foundational 13 Steps form to the longer 28, 48, and 108 Steps sequences. We can also work with specialized forms like Tai He Quan, Tai Yi Wu Xing Quan, and the iconic Liang Yi Quan. For weapon training, options include staff, spear, sword, saber, and even traditional weapons like the fan and horsetail whisk. Beyond forms, we can work on specific skills such as flexibility training, strengthening exercises, body conditioning, self-defense applications, sparring techniques, meditation training, and developing proper movement patterns.

The greatest advantage of private instruction is that everything is adapted to you. We begin by discussing your goals, any difficulties you're experiencing, and what you hope to achieve through training. If you want to learn a specific form, I'll guide you through it systematically, ensuring you understand both the physical techniques and the internal principles. If you're dealing with pain or physical limitations, we'll work together to address these issues and develop exercises that promote healing and pain-free movement.

My teaching philosophy emphasizes giving you the tools to become independent. While I provide guidance and correction, my goal is to help you develop your own sense of what works and what doesn't, so you can continue progressing on your own. I work with people of all ages and life situations, whether you're seeking relief from chronic pain, interested in perfecting advanced techniques, or looking to improve athletic performance and prevent injuries through proper training.

Practical Details

For training, you simply need clothing that allows complete freedom of movement. Loose, comfortable athletic wear or traditional martial arts clothing works well. If you're interested, you can also order high-quality taichi clothing or traditional weapons directly through me.

Footwear is particularly important. I strongly recommend shoes with flat soles and minimal cushioning to maintain natural grounding and proper movement mechanics. This connection to the ground is essential for developing correct stance work and internal power.
