My local classes in Vienna (Coming Soon)

I am excited to announce that I am currently developing a comprehensive practice program here in Vienna that will bring together multiple dimensions of Chinese internal arts in a single, integrated session. This regular class format is being designed to offer local practitioners a consistent opportunity to cultivate their practice and explore the interconnected aspects of qigong, taichi, and gongfu.
The class structure will begin with a dedicated qigong course, providing students with essential practices for cultivating internal energy, promoting health, and developing the awareness necessary for all internal martial arts. Qigong serves as the foundation for deeper practice, teaching us how to work with breath, intention, and energy flow. Through systematic qigong exercises, students will learn to release tension, open the body's energy pathways, and develop a felt sense of chi that informs all subsequent practice. This portion of the class will include both dynamic movements and stationary practices, allowing students to experience different methods of energy cultivation.
The qigong practice will naturally flow into a taichi class, where we will apply the principles and awareness developed during qigong work to the art of taichi. Here, students will learn or refine the fundamental movements and forms of taichi, working with proper alignment, weight transfer, and the flowing, continuous quality that characterizes this beautiful art. Whether you are a complete beginner or someone with previous experience, the taichi portion will offer appropriate challenges and opportunities for growth. We will emphasize the health benefits, meditative qualities, and martial applications of the movements, ensuring a well-rounded understanding of taichi as both an art and a practice for life.
Following the taichi session, we will conclude with some gongfu practice, introducing students to additional aspects of Chinese martial arts. This segment will add variety and vigor to the practice, incorporating different types of movements and training methods that complement and enhance the qigfu and taichi work. The gongfu practice may include stance training, basic techniques, conditioning exercises, and movement patterns that develop strength, flexibility, and martial skill. This component ensures that students experience a more complete picture of the Chinese martial arts tradition.
The entire session is planned to run approximately two hours, providing sufficient time to work through each component without rushing, while remaining practical for students' schedules. This duration allows for proper warm-up, thorough instruction, opportunities for questions and corrections, and adequate practice time for each element of the class. The flow from qigong to taichi to gongfu creates a natural progression that takes students through different energetic qualities and training modalities within a single, coherent session.
These classes are intended for anyone interested in exploring Chinese internal arts, regardless of prior experience. The integrated format means that beginners will receive a comprehensive introduction to multiple practices, while more experienced students will have the opportunity to deepen their understanding and refine their skills across different disciplines. The regular class schedule will allow students to develop consistency in their practice, which is essential for real progress in these arts.
Vienna provides a wonderful setting for this kind of practice. Our city's rich cultural heritage, appreciation for diverse traditions, and community of dedicated practitioners creates an ideal environment for learning and growth. I am committed to fostering a supportive, respectful atmosphere where students can explore these practices at their own pace while benefiting from group energy and shared commitment.
I am currently finalizing the specific details regarding the class location, schedule, start date, and registration information. Factors being considered include finding an appropriate practice space with adequate room for movement, establishing a class time that accommodates working schedules, and creating a sustainable structure that allows for long-term, consistent training. My goal is to have all the definitive details available soon, so that interested students can plan accordingly and secure their place in the class.
Please check back here regularly for updates, or feel free to reach out if you would like to be added to a notification list for when registration opens. I am genuinely looking forward to building a regular practice community here in Vienna and to sharing these profound arts with local students who are ready to commit to consistent training and personal development.
I look forward to practicing with you and exploring together the depths of qigong, taichi, and gongfu in our beautiful city.
